Privacy Policy

1. Policy
The Focolare Movement of the US and Canada (“FMNA”) operates the FMNA Website (“Website”). The FMNA Privacy Policy for the FMNA Website (“FPP”) describes how FMNA collects, uses and shares personal information of those using the FMNA Website. The FPP does not apply to websites that post different privacy statements. For example, the donation system, which is operated by an independent vendor, has different privacy policies.

2. Personal Information
“Personal information” means information about a specific individual who can be directly or indirectly identified using that information, which does not include aggregate or anonymous information that cannot identify a specific individual or individuals.

3. Consent
BY SUBMITTING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO FMNA THROUGH THE WEBSITE, YOU CONSENT TO THE FPP AND TO THE FMNA’S COLLECTION, USE, AND DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION ACCORDING TO THE TERMS OF THE FPP. FMNA DOES NOT KNOWINGLY COLLECT INFORMATION FROM PERSONS UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE THROUGH THE WEBSITE. IF YOU ARE UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE, DO NOT USE THE FMNA WEBSITE TO CONTACT FMNA.

4. US and Canada Only
The Website is available for the use of the residents of the United States and Canada only. If you are not a resident of the US or Canada, do not submit personal information to the FMNA using the Website.

5. Information Collected
When you use the Website, FMNA collects information that you voluntarily enter into the Website, as well as information automatically collected as needed for the correct functioning of the Website:
a. Information You Give Us. We may collect your name, postal address, email address, phone number, fax number, demographic information (such as your gender and occupation), and other information you provide to us.
b. Information We Receive from Others. We may obtain information about you from others. We may add this to information you provide to us.
c. Information Automatically Collected. We automatically log information about you and your computer. For example, when visiting the Website, we may log your computer operating system type, browser type, browser language, the website you visited before browsing to the Website, pages you viewed, how long you spent on a page, access times, Internet protocol (IP) address and information about your use of and actions on the Website.
d. Cookies. We may log information using “cookies.” Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive by a website. Cookies help us make the Website and your visit better. We use cookies to see which parts of the FMNA Website people use and like and to count visits to the Website.
e. Web Beacons. We may log information using digital images called web beacons on the Website. We use web beacons to manage cookies, count visits, and to learn what functions work best on the Website.

FMNA uses your personal information for the following purposes:
a. to respond to your questions, comments and requests for information, and to provide assistance to you in using the Website

c. to protect, investigate, and deter against fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity
d. for the correct functioning and improvement of the Website, including entry into other software applications used by FMNA to operate the Website

FMNA may share your personal information with others in the following circumstances:

b. to comply with applicable laws and regulations
c. to respond to lawful requests and legal process
d. to protect the rights and property of FMNA, our agents, members, and others, which includes enforcing our agreements and policies
e. when necessary in an emergency, including protecting the safety of our employees and agents, our members, or any person
f. when it is needed by vendors and contractors for work directly related to providing and improving the Website

8. No Third-Party Marketing
FMNA does not sell, trade, or share personal information with other organizations except as provided in Section 7 of the FPP. FMNA does not disclose the personal information of donors to third parties for direct marketing purposes.

9. Security
We take steps to help protect your personal information. However, no organization can fully prevent security risks. Mistakes may happen. Bad actors may defeat even the best safeguards. Consequently, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you understand that any information that you transfer to us is done at your own risk.

10. Accessing and Changing Your Personal Information
You may obtain information about and request changes to your personal information by contacting: website@focolare.us.

11. Changes to the FPP
FNMA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace the FPP at any time. If the modifications constitute a material change to the FPP, we will notify you by placing a prominent notice on the FMNA Website and/or via email at the email address we have on file for you. What constitutes a material change will be determined at FMNA’s sole discretion. You shall be responsible for reviewing and becoming familiar with any such modifications. Use of the FMNA Website or viewing any content on the FMNA Website following notification of a material change shall constitute your acceptance of the FPP as modified.
